About Lisa Martin

Lisa Martin is an avid hiker who loves exploring nature and using photography to capture the best that it has to offer. There is no path or trail unworthy of her gifted attention. Her photographer’s eye highlights the brilliant details and most minute elements to show Mother Nature’s finest in all of her diverse beauty.  She has been an avid hiker for over 30 years. Over the last three years she has logged 2400+ miles, 293 hikes, and completed the 52 Hike Challenge / Trail challenge each of the last three years. With her trusted black Labrador sidekick named Luke, Lisa has encountered an incredible variety of wildlife. Her camera manages to reveal the delicate beauty of a bird’s wing, the soulful expression in a cow’s eyes or the proud head toss of a horse in full gallop.

“I believe everything has a soul and a story—not just people and animals, but the mountains, the trees, a glassy lake that is ‘home’ to many creatures. Just imagine all that a 200-year-old oak tree has seen in her lifetime! For me, it’s amazing to think about and one of the reasons I am so passionate about photography. My goal is always to capture those untold stories, the very essence of what I am shooting, right down to the soul.”

Every year, Lisa takes more than 15,000 photos, adding the most captivating nature and landscape photography to her expansive portfolio. New photos will be added to the site weekly to share the most recent experiences and seasonal encounters.
